Digital artwork of a colorful butterfly resting on a green leaf in a peaceful forest background inspired by the beauty of nature

“I saw this butterfly during a walk, and for a moment I just stared. I had never seen colours like that. It almost felt like God saying, ‘You think you know colours? I have painted creations with shades you haven’t even discovered yet.’

It flew away before I could fully admire it. I later found butterflies with similar patterns online… and that brief encounter became this artwork.”

“The heavens declare the glory of God…” — Psalm 19:1

Did you know? πŸ¦‹

Butterfly wings are covered with thousands of tiny scales, arranged almost like overlapping tiles. These scales are what create the beautiful colors and patterns we admire on butterflies.

But these scales do more than just make butterflies beautiful. They help protect the delicate wings, absorb warmth from sunlight, and even help butterflies hide from predators through camouflage.

The beautiful colors on a butterfly’s wings come from thousands of tiny scales covering them. Some scales contain natural pigments, while others bend and reflect light in special ways, creating bright shimmering colors.

And here’s a common myth: touching a butterfly one time does not automatically make it unable to fly. The real danger comes from rough or repeated handling, which can remove too many scales or damage the fragile wing structure over time.

Most butterflies live for 2 to 4 weeks, though some species can survive for several months. Their short lives are spent feeding, pollinating flowers, finding mates, and continuing the next generation.

It’s fascinating that such delicate creatures, carrying incredible beauty and purpose, often live only for a brief moment in nature.
